Bowling for some bad news

I went bowling tonight with some friends i didn't do that bad but i didn't do very well either. While bowling i heard that a friend of mine is in the hospital and has been for the last couple weeks. This explains a lot since we had made plans the day before i was coming back home and when i arrived i couldn't get a hold of her. It's not like her to not return phone calls either so i was getting a little worried. I knew she had been sick for some time now ever since she came back from Mexico with some intestinal virus or such but i had no idea that it was that bad. Alex a friend of mine has been trying to get a hold of Noah ( her boyfriend ) to see whats going on and what hospital she's in so we all can stop in but no luck there. I HATE hospitals but i hope they're taking good care of her.

Maria Full fo Grace

i saw "Maria Full of Grace" i wasn't sure what to expect since i hadn't seen much about it but i was pleasantly suprised. i don't want to reveal anything but i thought it was raw as well as revealing which i definitley like. Oh i was given a sony trinitron by a friend of mine that is leaving for New York it's about twenty something inches, forgive me i am kind of drunk at the moment. so i am happily watching "Happenstance" with Audrey Tautou right now.

Garden State

i just came back from seeing Garden State and boy am i in a mood. Since i was a kid i really loved the way some films can influence the way you feel on exiting the venue. This one did that and i am not sure if it was soley the film or if it is the state that i am in that caused me to be more vulnerable. I have been in a funk for a while now, try a year and there are times where i get weak and let it all fall. I was vulnerable tonight which led to the film getting to me more then it usually would. I went to the movie by my lonesome which i often do lately becuase i have no friends. Let me clear this up i do have friends but not the ones that you can just do nothing with, those friends don't live here so i rather be by myself then have to act like i'm happy to not spoil the mood. Anyway i enjoyed the film i recommend seeing it Natalie Portman's character reminds me of an old friend i had in Wisconsin who was hilarious. My next flick will be Maria Full of Grace.

I Say No

I just found out that the major i am in FILM has changed it's name to Media Art's ? What the fuck is that.......i don't know...............i better have film on my diploma or i will have the biggest fit anybody has seen.......i kid you not. I really don't know why my school has this reinventing bug squirming around but it was just last year that they removed the CRAFTS from California College of Art's and Crafts. We are now California College of the Arts. I really didn't see what was wrong with the word Craft. Craftmanship is still thought of as the skill, technique, and design of the maker. Now Media Art's i can't stand it, i am probably overeacting but i don't consider what i do media arts. I'm done.

Holy shit

Sitting here i just realized that i have been here ( oakland ) for a little over a year now. Where did the time go? Well to tell you the truth it feels like a lifetime has passed but at the same time it feels like yesturday that i was carrying my stuff into an unfamilar shit hole. A lot has gone on in the past year, a lot of shit but there has been quit a few great times. What else could i ask for at least i am still alive.

I need to take a breather

Ok i just finished watching the men's individual all-around and man was that tough. I was jumping off the couch screaming my head off ( who knows what my neighbors think ) and finally lying on the floor on my stomach pounding the floor. I am exhausted, you would think i just finished a meet. Towards the end of the first half Paul was in 12th place with three events to go and it wasn't looking up for him, especially when he tumbled on the ground after his landing off the vault. I was having a hard time watching even though i already knew the results. Anyway i was so ecstatic and relieved when he finished the highbar with a 9.837 that i kicked over my ashtray as well as my drink. Koodos to Paul

GUESS WHO WON THE GOLD .....

Thats right !

Congrats to Paul on his gold all around title. He came out with a 57.825 just a hair in front of Kim Dae Eun's 57.811 of Korea ( yeah, a gold star for the korean ). I think we all knew that Paul would win, he had the advantage as well as the hearts of the americans who love gymnastics ( and for all that don't then fuck off ).

Childhood Friends

Congrats to Paul and Morgan for the Men's team Silver, a long overdue placement for the men's usa team. It's been twenty years since the last time the men's team had placed for a medal ( L.A. ) and that game was boycotted. Good luck to the both of them for the individual all-around title.

You probably don't know this but i grew up in Waukesha, Wisconsin until i was eighteen. I then moved to Chicago and from there to Oakland. I was in kindergarden with Paul and Morgan ( about the age of the pictures on the left side ) as well as high school. I was in gymnastics for several years but quit on my way into middle school to have more time with my friends.
