there goes the house

Early thankgiving morning my house started on fire. The only working smoke detector was in my room. When i awoke i was greeted with a cloud full of smoke with the loud bellowing of the alarm. I ran down stairs to find my roommate and a friend asleep on the couch. From what the investigator had told us Derek and his friend had already been effected by the smoke. This explains why they were disoriented when they woke up.

While the three of us made our way to the kitchen the wall burst into flams. Derek and his friend headed to the front door while i went up stairs to wake up my other roommate and to grab my phone and computer. With this going on the house was filling up with a god awful amount of black smoke, by the time we headed down the stairs the air was black. I fell down the stairs twice, collecting myself on the landings.

Eric and i made it outside just before our windows blew letting out the smoke that had been trapped inside. By the time the fire department arrived the roof was in flams taunting the building behind as well as the ones on either side of us.

Hours later we were let back in to find all our stuff damaged by either fire, smoke, or water.

I spoke with my landlord to negotiate a time to get my security deposit back, all i recieved were insinuating remarks following with a dial tone. With all said and done i know what happened, as does the arson investigator.

I have the feeling Oakland doesn't like me much. It's time for another move.
